Ultrasounds During Cryptic Pregnancy:

The overwhelming majority of ultrasounds during a cryptic pregnancy are negative, "No baby found", "Uterus is normal and empty." There are very simple reasons why this occurs, when the mother is in fact pregnant. A negative ultrasound during a cryptic pregnancy DOES NOT mean the woman is not pregnant.

The mother must have positive urine and/or blood pregnancy tests for the medical industry to believe that she is indeed pregnant. Only a positive pregnancy test will lead to a THOROUGH ultrasound. When the pregnancy tests are not positive, a THOROUGH ultrasound is not preformed due to the disbelief of a possible pregnancy. If the mother has a "uterine abnormality" the ultrasound will be negative for pregnancy.

Uterine abnormalities that may cause a negative ultrasound:

1) Retroverted uterus (also known as a tipped or tilted uterus)

2) Bicornuate uterus (also known as a heart shaped or double uterus)

If you research "tilted uterus and ultrasounds" there are many forums and blogs where women give their stories of how even in "normal" pregnancies, babies are not always seen during an ultrasound due to a tilted uterus. This is happening even when the pregnancy tests are positive, much less when they are negative. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, A BABY CAN BE MISSED DURING AN ULTRASOUND.

CT Scans, MRIs and X-rays During Cryptic Pregnancy:

Many cryptically women have had their doctors order CT scans, MRIs and X-rays. None of these tests have shown a fetus and have not helped to confirm a cryptic pregnancy. The safety of these tests during pregnancy are questionable.
