What to Expect With a Cryptic Pregnancy
We have been researching, consulting and following thousands of cryptically pregnant women from all over the world since 2013. This is what you need to expect if you are experiencing a Cryptic Pregnancy:
-You must expect to carry between 3 and 10 years. We are aware of an extreme of 14 years.
-During cryptic pregnancy the blood tests will not be positive. Only when a cryptic pregnancy turns normal will the blood tests become positive.
-Without a positive urine or blood test, you may have to demand an ultrasound.
-You may get FAINT positives with home pregnancy tests at some point during the pregnancy, many women do, but they will return to negative once there is a period or a hormonal shift. The blood test will never be positive unless the pregnancy turns normal. The faint positive home tests during a cryptic pregnancy DO NOT slowly get more positive over time.
-You may be told that the fetal movement is gas, IBS, your bowels moving, your abdominal muscles moving, worms, a parasite, cysts, fibroids, constipation, muscle spasms, the list goes on.
-You may be diagnosed with IBS, gallbladder issues, celiac disease, cysts, fibroids, UTIs , a systemic infection, PCOS, pre-mature menopause, menopause, peri-menopause, an autoimmune disorder, thyroid issues, and “phantom pregnancy”.
-If you continue to insist that you are pregnant to the same doctor or hospital, eventually they will recommend that you see a mental health counselor. Women have been given “interventions” by their Obstetricians and a Psychiatrists. We even speak with some women who have been held against their will in a psychiatric hospital for a "phantom pregnancy".
-If you show them how your abdomen is growing, they will tell you that you are just fat or that you have IBS and that you need to stop eating gluten and sugar.
-You must be prepared to deliver at home unassisted. Due to the nature of cryptic pregnancy labor and negative pregnancy tests, you will likely not have a choice. Do not put yourself into a situation where you do not have a home birthing plan.
